M&S Engineering, LLC seeks a qualified Construction Inspector to work at our New Braunfels, Texas location to be responsible for inspection and management of various utility construction projects throughout central Texas. Our Utility Services division works with both Water and Electrical Utility clients to support various projects including; water distribution systems, booster stations, elevated tanks, sewer collection, lift stations, wastewater treatment, emergency power systems, and building facilities (office and warehouse).
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide on-site construction inspections for concurrent construction projects.
- Provide weekly construction reports and schedule status to project team. Report material received and construction units completed for invoicing.
- Support specification and documentation of client design standards and material standards based on construction observations.
- Review designs prior to construction to become familiarized with the project design, specification, material, and outage requirements.
- Conduct pre-construction meetings. Ensure safe working practices and environment.
- Verify accuracy of drawing markups and as-builts.
- Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned
Qualifications
- 2-year degree in construction management or related field
- Minimum of 2 years of job-related experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills as well as verbal and written communications skills
- Take personal responsibility and ownership for the quality and accuracy of work product
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite
- Work independently or in a team environment
- Must be able to routinely lift up to 30lbs
- Ability to travel
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required
- Knowledge of water distribution systems and wastewater collection systems
- Knowledge of electrical 480V and below
- Knowledge of Generator Power Systems and Automatic Transfer Switches
- Knowledge of construction standards, industry best practices, project management methods and concepts, budgeting and cost management, engineering principles, and electrical theory
- Knowledge of materials and tools used in construction, construction safety principles and practices, and National Electric Safety Code
- Knowledge of procurement, design, and processes
- Skilled in working across organizations to coordinate construction activities and communications
- Skilled in time management, prioritizing, and managing changing priorities
- Skilled in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications
