M&S Engineering, LLC is seeking a qualified and innovative Senior Project Manager at The Woodlands, Texas location. The Senior Project Manager is responsible for project planning and monitoring of the scoping, cost estimations, design, procurement, and construction of high voltage electrical power systems, primarily distribution lines, transmission lines, and substations.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Be accountable for the cost, schedule, safety, quality, and completion of scoping, design, and/or construction of capital projects
- Identify skill requirements for functional managers and assemble project team. Accountable for establishing the scale of effort required to manage specific projects, and to adapt the process to best reflect the project's complexity. Using the Capital Projects Process, develop a comprehensive project scope for capital projects.
- Establish project schedules, and track and control project costs and schedules to meet budgets and critical milestones.
- Prepare and conduct management review meetings at critical milestones. Maintain current information on project status in all relevant client databases and client interfaces.
- Resolve project conflicts that affect cost, schedule, or customer satisfaction, and develop appropriate action and recovery plans. Ensure that the project team utilizes the correct internal or client processes in the development and implementation of capital projects.
- Manage a portfolio of capital projects and project teams. Accountable for the coordination of and communication to all project resources, both internal and external.
- Communicate resource status to functional managers and jointly develop contingency plans. Ensure timely closeout of projects, including all required documentation. Provide feedback to functional management on team members' individual performance.
- Resolve inter-group conflicts, project conflicts and delays as required to meet project completion goals
- Travel out of town for short periods of time as required by projects and assignments

Minimum Qualifications / Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, business, or related field is required.
- 4-9 years of experience in the design, construction, or operations of distribution lines, transmission lines, and/or substations is required.
- 4-9 years of experience in the supervision/management of budgets and work groups is strongly preferred.
- PMP registration is desired and preferred.
- Prior experience with Primavera P6 scheduling software is preferred
- Previous experience in engineering and construction projects is preferred
- Power distribution, survey/staking, or ROW experience is preferred
- Proven communication skills, both oral and written, to convey thoughts, ideas, and facts to a diverse group of individuals including administrators, engineers, and senior management
- Ability to prioritize and work in a fast-paced environment to meet all deadlines
- Understand financial aspects of project control
- Proficient with MS Office including Teams, Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Able to work occasional overtime to complete critical tasks
